As of June 2023, Dr. Amit Misra has succeeded Dr. Alan Taub as the director of the Michigan Materials Research Institute (MMRI) and (MC)2. Dr. Misra is the Edward DeMille Campbell Collegiate Professor of Materials Science & Engineering and Professor (by courtesy) of Mechanical Engineering at U-M. His research focuses on light-weight structural materials, radiation-damage tolerant materials, high strength and high electrical conductivity materials. Thank you to Dr. Taub for his leadership of (MC)2 and the Michigan Materials Research Institute over the last few years. Dr. Taub departs to guide the development of the new Electric Vehicle Center at U-M.
